1. Is there an additional designer fee on top of the proposal amount?
No. We are unique in that way. Many designers charge you for the
product and also a design fee. We like to keep everything honest and
upfront. No surprise or additional fees.
2. How quick can a project be complete?
We do our best to expedite what we can. Unfortunately, once
special orders are placed, we are sometimes at the mercy of the
factory. However, we try to get an accurate time frame of delivery
before we order the piece.
3. Can I incorporate items I already own?
Of course in fact we encourage it. Many designers will walk into a
home and say to get rid of everything and start new. Whether it is
from budget issues or sentimental reasons, items that you have reflect
you and help to make your house a home.
4. I am afraid of color but I want something new. How can you help?
Color can be intimidating and if done wrong can be horrific. That’s
why it is best to work with a designer. We can create a color palette
that works well together and offers a distinctive look and will help
introduce you to a new level of design.
5. What if I don’t like something when you bring it into my home?
We want our clients to be 100% happy. When working with designers, it
is important to keep an open mind. You have chosen to get help, so you
have to be willing to step out of your normal comfort zone as you can.
If we install an item that is not special ordered or permanently
installed (ex. - tile, paint, drapes, furniture) we will take it back.
However, all special orders are non-returnable. We will make sure
everything such as fabrics, sizes, colors, products, and price are
clearly spelled out for you before you place an order
6. I want my house done, but I can’t do it all at once. Will you still
work with me?
Absolutely we will! We have many clients that we have been working
with for years. They do an area at a time as they can. We will give a
general proposal or as we call it – your road map. It is important
when doing a home in stages, to keep forward on the direction the
design is heading. You need to have some idea of what will be done
later in the project. So many details work and tie it together so it
is important to have a full game plan.
7. If I have limited budget right now where do I start?
We suggest if you have a limited budget to try and not stretch it too
far. We feel it is best if you can save and do one area correctly,
rather than buy inexpensive furniture and accessories and not look
great. Good quality last longer and it gives a finished look that you
will be happy with. We have found when people try and cut corners they
just keep “dumping” money into the area because they are ever quite
happy with how it turned out. We suggest taking one room at a time and
finish it and not just put a few things here and there.
8. I just need new paint colors / drapes / art. Do you do small
projects?
We like all sizes of jobs and are willing to help you anyway we can.
9. I am building a new home. If I want to use a designer when do I
hire one?
As soon as you have your rough plans have us look at it. Architects
often don’t look at the space, as a designer will. For instance, where
electrical should be placed, swinging of doors, space planning for your
lifestyle and many other little things. We will do a blue print study
and offer suggestions based on your input. We can help you pick out
every item for your new home, or as little as you would like. While
your home is being built, we can order furniture, wallpaper, colors and
more and be ready upon completion.
10. My kitchen needs updated. Do you do remodels?
Yes we do many kitchens and bathroom remodels. We have sub-contractors
that we work with daily, whom we trust and know we demand perfection.
We can schedule them and have that new look for you quickly.
11. Do you do any commercial projects?
Yes we do what we call “light” commercial projects such as doctors,
lawyer, dentists and other small business. Again we will come look,
prepare proposals and work around their busy schedules.
12. I would like to redo my patio and yard. Do you also do that?
We love to help with the out of doors with tile work, fireplaces,
furniture, pots for trees and flowers and just making your patio
usable.
